There are many beautiful country walks and stone-built villages in the vicinity, and also just 1.5 miles to the north is Rutland Water, Europe’s largest man-made lake. This offers a huge range of leisure pursuits including cycling, sailing, angling, walking and bird-watching, for the water is home to England’s only colony of Ospreys
Our village has two pubs within walking distance, both serving lunches and evening meals.  

A third inn The Wheatsheaf is only 1.5 miles distant at Edith Weston and serves food at all times.

We are ideally placed for the annual Burghley Horse Trials and also for August’s Bird-watchers fair at the Rutland Water Nature Reserve.  Rutland water also hosts many sailing events.
